Who We Are
Sightless Children Club (SCC) is a non-profit organization for parents of blind / visually impaired children and young adults who care about the education and social needs of those who are visually impaired.
SCC supplies specialized equipment needed to enhance the educational endeavors of visually impaired individuals at the grade school, high school, college and work-related levels enabling them to functin on the same level as their sighted peers. SCC meets on the 3rd Monday of every month at 7:00pm.
Sightless Children Club (SCC) was founded in 1952 by a group of parents who saw the need for specialized education for children that were blind or visually impaired to be taught in a public school atmosphere. Funding for SCC is provided by public donations and contributory requests.
The purpose of SCC is to help blind and visually impaired people achieve self-confidence, social independence, self sufficiency and self-respect by providing them with aids, adaptive equipment and technology needed to function on the same level as their sighted peers.
